The news broke, as it does these days, on Twitter.
First, that Lovie was out.
Second, that before the Bears had even made the announcement – still hadn’t as of 10:30 a.m. – word leaked out this way:
Whoa: Bears have sent out consent forms requesting permission to interview head-coaching candidates.

Cutler on his radio show doesn’t sound at all like a guy who’s upset he is getting a new head coach.#bears

The county commissioner.
Can’t feel bad for Lovie who still stands to make $5.5 million from the Bears. I would’ve not taken the Bears to the playoffs for 1/2 that.

Tremendously well connected source tells me this AM that even had GB won Smith would have been fired if Bears did not make deep playoff run

Fair to say that Ted Phillips’ decision to make Phil Emery work with Lovie Smith has set the organization back 1 year.

The Fox Sports “reporter.”

The sports radio reporter.
Safe to say that most of the veterans in the Bears locker room are not happy about the decision to fire Lovie Smith.
