Local Music Notebook: La Super Banda Macho!

Exporting Al Capone And Amps

A loose collection of whatnot.
1. La Super Banda Macho -La Noche Que Chicago Murio.

2. Dueling Banjos at the opening of the Eastside Chicago Music Store – in Tucson, Arizona.

3. “This is a 1966 National Westwood Model N6422TR guitar amplifier, built by a famous Chicago’s Valco Company, a maker of quitar amps for Gretsch, Sears, Ward, Harmony and many others.
“The amp is equipped with two 1966 Jensen 8” Alnico V magnet speakers and Valco’s designed pure tube circuitry with four 12AX7 preamp tubes and a single 6V6GT tube, working in a triode configuration.
“The power is supplied by 5Y3GT rectifier tube. The amp is quite easy to push a bit harder to get excellent overdrive distortion. The sound is really marvelous – from a jazzy and soft tones when working with clean sound to a great, dynamic distortion-driven intense sound of modern guitar riffs.
“The amp is equipped with an excellent sounding tremolo and a reverb.”
